what is urban marketplace?
Urban Marketplace is an e-commerce platform that is catered to Black-owned small businesses. It's where you can Shop and Buy products from vendors all in one place. Urban Marketplace provides accessibility for its vendors to the customers. As we grow with multiple Black brands, you will find items that are woman-owned, vegan friendly, handmade, and more! It is important to support the Black Community and build Black wealth within this economy gap. We are here to help make shopping with Black businesses easy, accessible, and quick with just a button to checkout!
Meet the Founders.
We are sisters, Schenequa Norfleet (Owner),Tammy Smith (Co-Owner), and Jayna McLean (Manager) who are originally from New York and raised in Georgia. Schenequa and Tammy currently reside in North Carolina and we all have been shopping and supporting Black-owned businesses for a very long time. As supporters, we wanted to provide an easy experience to find small business owners to shop with. We are passionate about supporting our community and helping others in the process. As Issa Rae said, "I'm rooting for Everybody Black"! We want to show our love and support through our online store, Urban Marketplace.
